Requests, and the answers
Ask for data below and the answer is written here in public. Nothing is hidden: you can read how every job was scoped before you ask anything yourself.
Worked example — not a real request
How a request gets answered
This is the level of detail every request gets back: where the data actually lives, what I can and can't get, and what it costs — before you commit to anything.
Every registered tea exporter in Sri Lanka, with contacts and export volume
QuotedMarin · buying office · 14 Sep 2026
We're opening a buying office in Colombo and need a full list of registered exporters — company name, registration number, address, phone, email, and last year's export volume if that's public anywhere. We tried the association website but it only lists its own members, which we think is about a third of the market.

dtlinux desk · 15 Sep 2026What I understand you need
A complete exporter list rather than an association membership list, with enough contact detail to start outreach, and a size figure so you can decide who to approach first.
Where this data actually lives
Three public sources cover it between them. The Export Development Board keeps an exporter directory with registration numbers and addresses. The Sri Lanka Tea Board publishes its registered exporter list as a quarterly PDF — that one is the authoritative list, and it's the one the association site is a subset of. Company registration numbers and directors come from Registrar of Companies filings. Matching the three needs name normalisation, because the same company appears as "Ltd", "Limited" and "(Pvt) Ltd" across them.
What I can get
Company name, registration number, registered address, district, phone, and a public email address for roughly 90% of the list. Website and a named contact where one is published. I'll mark every row with which source it came from and the date collected, so you can re-check anything yourself.
What I can't get, and what I'd do instead
Export volume per company is not published anywhere public — the Tea Board releases national totals, not company splits. Buying it from a commercial trade-data provider would cost more than this whole job. What I can give you instead is auction participation frequency, which is public and tracks company size closely enough to rank them into rough bands. I'd rather tell you that now than deliver a column of guesses.
Time and cost
A free 50-row sample from all three sources by Thursday, so you can check the fields are the ones you need. Full list in five working days after you approve the sample. Price is the multi-source rate on the pricing page; the quote PDF below has the exact figure and what's included.
Next step
Reply to the email I've sent and say go, and the sample lands Thursday morning. If the auction-frequency substitute doesn't work for you, say so now and we'll stop here rather than after you've paid.
